Description
One of our very precious heritages from Edith Stein is her phenomenological methodology. If we want to take Stein-studies to the next level, the application of her methodology in humanistic research could be an important step. I will present some reflections on the methodology, applying it mainly into the usual methodology: empirical studies. Those studies form the basis of “evidence based” research nowadays. However, in this research, crucial aspects are neglected. The main problem is that concepts and notions are used that are not clarified. Another problem is that truth is regarded as one-dimensional: as consisting of nothing but empirically-provable facts. In both aspects, Stein can add a new level.
