Description
In this presentation, I discuss how the combination of metafiction and humour in Jonathan Coe's work can show us good ways to deal with unpleasant real-life situations. Reading his works is an excellent excercise in being "excentric": taking an outside, distanced perspective on the world and on yourself, much like the novelist does with regard to the fictional world and the characters in it.
