Description
From March to May 2018, I was co-organiser and moderator of four debates in the Vlaams-Nederlands Huis voor Debat en Cultuur (Flemish-Dutch House for Debate and Culture DeBuren) in Brussels (https://www.deburen.eu/). In these debates, the constitutions of the Netherlands, France, the United Kingdom, and the United States were linked to the constitutional order of the European Union. What are the common elements in the constitutions of these countries? What are the differences? And what can we learn from these comparisons? It was up to Paul Cliteur, Paul Scheffer, Tamar de Waal, Niek Pas, Frederik Dhondt, Anton Jeager, Louise Hoon, Harry De Paepe, Markha Valenta, Toon Moonen and Andreas Kinneging to answer these questions.
