Intra-EU labour mobility at times of crisis: does it have a re-balancing effect on a diverging European labour market?

Activity: Talk or presentation typesOral presentationProfessional

    Description

The aim of this conference was to take stock of how the global economic crisis which started in 2008 and evolved into a Eurozone sovereign debt and banking crisis since 2010 has been affecting labour markets in the EU and to assess whether the policy responses that have been put forward so far are likely to address the problem of rising and persistently high unemployment in the area and its causes. Expert researchers and practitioners in key positions debated these questions. The conference also heard a keynote speech by László Andor, EU Commissioner responsible for employment, social affairs and inclusion.
