Description
The PhD Council represents more than one hundred PhD students in the Dutch Research School of Philosophy (OZSW). Our two main aims are to create a strong community amongst the student members of the OZSW and to stand up for their interests in addressing issues related to PhD training, supervision, and career perspectives on a national level.I started as a regular member, but as of December 2019, I am the chair of the council. This mostly means that I organise and chair the meetings; liaise with the Dutch Research School of Philosophy and third parties; and being involved in the activities the Council organises (such as the bi-annual writing retreat). At the moment we are working on a website that should serve as a central information point for Dutch philosophy PhD's where we post articles such as 'Which grands can I apply for after my PhD?' and 'Some advice from the PhD psychologist + contact details per university'.
