OZSW-SW*IP Autumn School 2024

Activity: Participating in or organising an event typesOrganising a workshop, seminar, course etc.Scientific

Description

Both historically and in today’s society certain groups have been underrepresented in philosophy. This fact is not an unhappy accident, but the result of a process of marginalisation. Marginalisation as a process affects both what research questions philosophers ask and who studies or works in philosophy departments. Starting from an acknowledgment of the problem, the Autumn School analyses the processes that contribute to the problem, but also studies particular manifestations of the process of marginalisation. Moreover, the Autumn School wants to be part of the solution, not least by showcasing good practices.

This is the first OZSW-SW*IP Autumn School. It consists of lectures and workshops. This event will also host the SW*IP Hypatia Lecture of 2024 by Robert Chapman (Durham University).
