Jonathan Coe is an award-winning English author of fourteen novels including What a Carve Up, The Rotter’s Club, Middle England and most recently The Proof of my Innocence. This interview will explore philosophical themes that arise throughout Coe’s work such as the connection between truth and fiction, the relationship between politics and literature, the role of satire in politics, the nature of nostalgia, the moral responsibilities of novelists and the damaging impact of economic inequality. The interview will be conducted by Nele Van de Mosselaer and Alfred Archer from the Tilburg University Philosophy Department.
