Description

The University of Amsterdam hosted my research in the Amsterdam Municipal Archives. In the archives I scrutinized the "registers van dingtalen" (i.e. summaries of pleadings during the court hearings) of the bench of aldermen in the early 18th century. The goal was to find merchants' opinions on customary mercantile law.
