Innovation and Distribution: An Equilibrium Model of Manufacturing and Retailing

This package replicates one table and five figures that are reported in the paper “Innovation and Distribution: An Equilibrium Model of Manufacturing and Retailing,” published in the Economic Journal. The code for data steps, table 1 and figure 4, are all written in Stata 18. Table 1 requires installation of the Stata command mmerge, which takes place in the first stata script that needs to be run. The data required to construct them is in csv format. Figures 1, 2, 3, and B.1 are coded in Matlab R2022a. The code expects that the optimization toolbox is installed. Earlier versions dating back to 2015 of these software packages will also work.
