Research interests

Public secondary schools in the Netherlands do not offer worldview or religious education, which means that there is little attention for personhood formation and learning from and about other religions, worldviews and cultures. However, worldview education could lead to a better comprehension of the world and oneself, which will make young people more resilient in this fast changing society. Therefore, the aim of my research project is to find out how public secondary schools can give structural attention to worldview education as a part of citizenship education.
