Research interests

I am interested in how organizations make progress on grand challenges and the social and environmental aspects of new business models and technologies.  One stream of work investigates novel organizational approaches, with a focus on how and what actors value and the role of power.  A second stream investigates interrelations between technology and society from an organizational perspective, especially in healthcare.  I also work with foresight and scenario methodologies.

Prior to my PhD, I worked on new product innovation and product marketing at HERE, the location division of Nokia, and represented Nokia in a European Commission partnership, serving as chair of the citizen focus action cluster that worked on inclusiveness and sustainability in cities.  Earlier, I co-founded a geography and technology education nonprofit in Chicago.

In the Bachelor's program, I teach in the Strategic Decision Making and Corporate Social Responsibility courses (Spring) and supervise theses.

In the Global Management of Sociall Issues (GMSI) Bachelor's, I teach in the Hybrid Organizations course (Spring).

In the Master's program, I teach in the Societial Development and Institutions course (Fall) and supervise theses.
