My research interest cover a wide range of topics within Data Mining, Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence, with a particular focus on sequential or temporal data. Within the field of Sequential Pattern Mining, I have introduced novel interestingness measures to evaluate patterns, as well as developed several algorithms for discovering patterns of various types in sequential data. I have also worked on algorithms for sequence classification, next event prediction in data streams and anomaly detection in time series. Away from sequential data, I have made contributions to the fields of recommender systems, subspace clustering and spatial pattern discovery.
