Personal profile

Research interests

Broadly, my research interests are focused on individual characteristics that contribute to the most severe forms of aggression, violence, and antisocial behavior, from a developmental psychopathology perspective. Specifically, my main focus so far has revolved around the role of emotion, emotion regulation, and personality pathology (mainly psychopathy). IN this context, my current research projects are aimed at: 1) untangling different emotion regulation processes and their relations with psychopathic traits and aggressive behavior; 2) elucidating the intertwined roles of emotion, cognition, and motivation in psychopathy and antisocial behavior; 3) examining the developmental antecedents of psychopathic traits and antisocial behavior. A transversal focus of my research consists also in the conceptualization and assessment of psychopathic personality in youth and adults.
