Research interests

Dorien Kooij graduated cum laude in Business Economics at the University of Amsterdam in 2002 (specialization labor, strategic management and organization). After graduating she worked as a junior P&O-consultant, HR advisor and policy worker at different organizations. From 2006 until 2010 she conducted her PhD research at the VU University Amsterdam. With her PhD thesis Motivating Older Workers: A Lifespan Perspective on the Role of Perceived HR Practices she won the WAOP Dissertation Award 2010 and the HRM Network Best Dissertation Award 2011. She started working as an assistant professor at Tilburg University in January 2010. Her research focuses on aging, older workers, motivation and HRM.
