"Simulation-based Optimization under Uncertainty: Applications in Stochastic Fluid Models and Strategic Gaming Analysis for Electricity Markets".
  • Ebru Angun, graduated in June 2004 and joined Galatasaray University, Istanbul, Turkey as assistant professor. "Black Box Simulation Optimization: Generalized Response Surface Methodology" (co-advisor with Dick den Hertog and Jack Kleijnen).

  • Arjan Buijssen, 2007. Investigating how to incorporate sensitivity analysis (based on successive linear programming approximations or nonlinear programming) at Shell's fluid blending operations (at ORTEC).
  • Romeo Langestraat, 2007. Explored the effects of carbon emission allowances on electricity generation investment decisions under uncertainty (theoretical).
  • Loek Hubbers, 2005. Developed a simulation based environment for discrete-event dynamic systems which can test and fine tune operating systems for container terminals (at Port of Rotterdam).
  • Evrim Memik, 2004. Investigated game theoretic models capturing cooperation and competition behaviour in supply chain management (theoretical).
  • Erwin Geubbels, 2000. Developed guidelines for implementation of a Decision Support System for generating deployment schedules, in real-time, for mine-hunting and mine-sweeping operations in North Sea (at TNO).
  • Maaike Staal, 1999. Investigated the performance of various measurement-based admission control algorithms for balancing the trade-off between efficiency and quality of service (QoS) in multi-service networks (at KPN Research).
