Dr. Hannah J. Visser is a researcher and facilitator, with a focus on religion, diversity, and education. She specializes in how educational settings can facilitate engagement with ethical issues, existential questions, and religious diversity.

Visser is currently working as a postdoctoral researcher at Tilburg University and the University of Amsterdam. At the Tilburg School of Catholic Theology, she is conducting a five-year research project (until 2030) about meaning in life among young adults in vocational and higher education. At the University of Amsterdam's Research Institute for Child Development and Education, she is engaged in a four-year research project (until 2028) that explores how teacher educators in social studies can stimulate classroom dialogues about ethical topics. 

In January 2025, she defended her PhD thesis, titled The Impact of Interfaith Learning, at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. During her PhD, she examined the objectives, processes and outcomes of interfaith learning, and explored how evaluations can do justice to the complex realities of such initiatives.

In addition to her research, Visser has facilitated dialogue projects in schools and helped establish and coordinate the Emoena interfaith leadership program in the Netherlands. She also coordinated student well-being initiatives during the COVID-pandemic and taught courses on dialogical skills, storytelling, case study analysis, and interreligious studies.
