Prof. Dr. Ianika N. Tzankova holds the first European chair in the field of Class Actions and Mass Claim Dispute Resolution, established in 2007. She currently serves as the Interim Academic Director of the Global Law Bachelor where she developed and teaches the course on Civil Procedure and Global Dispute Resolution. The course and the interactive methods used were featured in the program of the Ministry of Education of the Netherlands during a state visit to Canada in May 2015 and was awarded the Innovation Challenge award of the Dutch Ministry of Education in 2016. Prof. Tzankova also serves as Academic Director of the university's Honours Outreach Program and led the re-design of the program. 

Prof. Tzankova was a Fulbright Visiting Scholar at Stanford University in 2012, where she co-taught a course on transnational litigation and has been a Visiting Professor at Paris Dauphine University since 2017. She has authored numerous articles on civil procedure, mass claims and collective redress and is the co-editor with Deborah Hensler and Christopher Hodges of CLASS ACTIONS IN CONTEXT (Elgar, 2016). 

Prof. Tzankova complements her academic research and teaching with an active practice focusing on transnational litigation, litigation project management and alternative dispute resolution. She was a member of the Working Group of the European Law Institute that drafted the Statement on Private Enforcement of Competition Damages Claims and Collective Redress, and is currently a member of a working group of the ALI/UNIDROIT project on Transnational Civil Procedure.
