Research interests

Main activities: free movement of workers and social security in Europe, worker's participation and corporate governance issues, European social policy and labour market items. At the Tilburg University I manage the INT-AR project, a long term analysis of cross-border labour recruitment and migration. I coordinated the work of the European Institute for Construction Labour Research (in the period 1992 till mid-2015) and edited the quarterly CLR-News (ISSN 1997-1745, see www.clr-news.org). Chief editor of the Collective Bargaining Newsletter commissioned by the ETUI to AIAS until December 2018. Member of the GOODCORP network that deals with issues related to corporate governance and workers' involvement, www.worker-participation.eu/European-Company
In November 2013 I received the honorary degree of Doctor of Letters from the University of Westminster for my work related to European Social Policy. In November 2019, the European parliament appointed me as independent expert in the management board of the European Labour Authority (2020-2023).
