Personal profile
Research interests
Welcome! I am a third(fifth)-year PhD candidate in Economics with research interests at the crossroads of developmental, migration, and political economy. With a focus on developing countries - Bangladesh and Jordan - my work utilizes administrative, survey, and geo-spatial data to examine the role of interethnic contact on attitudes toward refugees, and what type of labor market frictions hinder the economic integration of refugees. Additionally, I investigate how food aid programs affect refugee engagement in food aid trade and welfare, drawing from both theoretical and empirical perspectives. Finally, I research the persistent effects of migration on local attitudes in receiving countries. My supervisors are prof. dr. Patricio Dalton and prof. dr. Daan van Soest.
Teaching
I teach the tutorial sessions for the B.A. course on International Trade and the M.A. courses Econometrics I and II.
Adding to my teaching duties, I supervise Bachelor theses.
Career
Before joining Tilburg University for my doctoral studies I worked as a research analyst in the Poverty and Equity Practice at The World Bank in Washington DC.
