Career

After studying both Tax Law and Criminal Law at Tilburg University, I worked as an attorney in tax law and criminal law, most often criminal tax law, at a boutique firm. After nine years in practice, I decided to join the university as a lecturer and PhD-researcher and to establish my own boutique law firm.

Research interests

I specialize in procedural tax law and criminal law. More specifically, my interest lies where the two areas of law meet. 

It is therefore not surprising that my doctoral research concerns the legal protection of tax payers rights in the transition from a tax audit to an investigation for punitive purposes (tax surcharges and a criminal prosecution).

Teaching

I teach the LLB course Procedural Tax Law and I am the coordinator of the 3th year LLB course Moot Court Tax Law. I also teach in the 3th year LLB course Bachelor Thesis Tax Law by supervising students. Lastly, I supervise master theses.
