The influence of Greek philosophy on thinkers in early Christianity, in particular St. Augustine and Platonism (Plotinus (The Enneads), Porphyry, (Porphyrian scholarship), Plato); Augustine's major works: The City of God, The Trinity, The Literal Meaning of Genesis, Confessions.

the Gnostic movements in early Christianity, in particular, Manichaeism and Manichaean sources;

Early Christian theology, the interpretation of Genesis, the creation story and humans as images of God;

The late Roman Empire, Roman law, Political philosophy.
