My research focuses on mental health and well-being in both a leisure and work context. In my PhD project, I investigated cognitive and behavioural determinants of subjective well-being (happiness and life satisfaction), using a wide variety of research methods (experience sampling, lab and field studies, cross-sectional research) and statistical methods (e.g. linear mixed-effects models). Importantly, cognitive and behavioural determinants of subjective well-being can be influenced to a certain extent. In my post-doc project, I currently examine modifiable factors that may facilitate and hamper sustainable work resumption among people on sick leave due to mental health problems, employing a combination of quantitative research (longitudinal retrospective study) and qualitative research (focus groups).
