Research interests

Marc is assistant professor at the Tilburg Institute of Governance of Tilburg University and postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Political Science of Ghent University. His research focusses on the behaviour of political parties (i.e. party entry, party exit, party platform change and issue competition) and political representation (i.e. descriptive representation and turnover of parliamentarians). His research line on party entry and exit in national party systems received research grants from the Research Foundation Flanders (FWO) and the Fund for Scientific Research Wallonia (FNRS). He has recently published in journals such as the American Journal of Political Science, European Union Politics, the Journal of Politics, Party Politics and West European Politics. He has also taught numerous courses on political behaviour and research methods and statistics.
