Research interests
My research focuses on the impact of digital technologies on fundamental rights, with expertise in cybercrime investigations, access to electronic evidence, cross-border judicial cooperation and public-private partnerships. I am currently developing my expertise on the regulation of AI and its links to EU cybersecurity and cyber resilience policies.
After 18+ years across government (European Parliament, Dutch Public Prosecution Service) and corporate roles (Stek Lawyers, Google, Deloitte Legal), I am now transitioning into academia, drawing on this experience to combine doctrinal analysis with practical insight and a holistic approach to my work.
I supervise LLB and LLM theses and lecture in the cybercrime course for the Master's in Law and Digital Technologies at TILT. I am also finalising my PhD at eLaw, Leiden University, which explores possible additional legal assistance obligations for IT infrastructure companies in criminal investigations into disruptive cybercrime.
