Research interests

Maria Haag is a Lecturer in European Union Law at the Department of Public Law and Governance at Tilburg University. Her research interests include EU constitutional law, Union citizenship, EU free movement and migration law.

Career

Maria Haag joined Tilburg University in 2020. She holds an LL.B. from Durham University, and an LL.M. and a Ph.D. in EU law from the European University Institute (EUI). She has previously been a trainee at the Legal Service of the European Commission, and a research assistant at the Robert Schuman Centre for Advanced Studies, and a research scholar at the University of Michigan Law School and Edinburgh Law School. She is the Chair of the Stichting European Law Blog.
