Personal profile

Research interests

In October 2008 I started as a postdoctural researcher with Emiel Krahmer in the Vici project "Bridging the gap between psycholinguistics and computational linguistics: The case of referring expressions". From 2010 onwards I am working as an assistant professor at the department of communication and information sciences

I am a member of the LCC research program of the Tilburg center for Cognition and Communication. My expertise lies in the areas of speech production and perception and the nonverbal communication of emotion. In particular, I study the crosscultural recognition of emotion in speech and the relationship between emotion and language production.
