Research interests

Miguel is a trained lawyer, human rights practitioner, and PhD candidate under the Global Law and Governance Signature Plan. His current research explores the role of borders, territories and sovereignty in public international law, through the case studies of Israel/Palestine and Morocco–Spain border. His broader research interests include political philosophy, legal geography and international relations.

Miguel was previously working as a human rights advocate with the Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Network, the European Parliament and the European Court of Human Rights. He holds an EM.A in Human Rights and Democratisation (European Inter-University Centre), M.Res in Political Philosophy (UNED), and LL.B in Law (University of Seville).
