Research interests

Nele is a Postdoctoral Researcher in the School of Humanities and Digital Sciences at Tilburg University. Using her background in machine learning and especially reinforcement learning, she researches how we can support people in accomplishing their long-term goals. Specifically, she is interested in adapting digital behavior change support to people and their situations over time. While Nele focused on creating adapting support for a conversational agent that helps people quit smoking and become more physically active during her PhD, her current emphasis is on preventing relapse in mentally ill people. Her research is part of an NWO-funded KIC-project.
