Research interests

Omar Salah is a full professor of Global Finance and Restructuring Law. His chair is embedded in the Department of Private, Business and Labour Law at Tilburg Law School. In the context of this chair, Omar Salah will conduct research on international financing and restructuring of multinational companies. His research and teaching focuses on global developments in the field of finance law as well as restructuring and insolvency proceedings.

Career

In addition to his academic position at Tilburg University, he works as a lawyer specializing in finance, restructuring and insolvency. He is a Partner in the Banking practice of global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright LLP where he is Head of Financial Restructuring & Insolvency, Amsterdam.

Previously, he worked at Tilburg University between 2009-2011. Between 2011-2021, he was a lawyer at Dutch law firm De Brauw Blackstone Westbroek, Amsterdam and Singapore offices. He also worked for US law firm King & Spalding, London offices.
