Research interests

As a PhD researcher, Pien is part of the Academic Workplace: a collaboration between Victim Support the Netherlands and INTERVICT in which Research / Science and practice meet. Her research into Peer support among victims and survivors of crime is a first result of this collaboration. 

Pien van de Ven is victimologist (MSc) with a background in criminology (BSc). She studied at the Erasmus University Rotterdam (EUR) and at Tilburg University. Before starting the PhD research she worked as a junior researcher at INTERVICT on a large scale European research into human trafficking / human traffickers, as a policy officer / researcher at Victim Support the NL and as a teacher of criminology at the EUR.
