Richard T.J.M. Janssen (1954) was member of the Board of Altrecht mental care in Utrecht. He was before CEO of Mondriaan Health Care Group in Heerlen and Altrecht in Utrecht, till may 2016. Since 1996, he is part time professor in health economy at the University of Tilburg, at the department of Tranzo (http://www.tilburguniversity.edu/webwijs/show/?uid=r.t.j.m.janssen).He is also member of the Board of ZonMW, IVO Addiction Research Institute & SGE Foundation for Primary Care Eindhoven. He experienced jobs in the area op academics, public health and disability care. He published about 130 articles in the area of financing health care, equity and health care management and strategic issues in the area of the health care industries.

Richard Janssen obtained his doctorate in 1989 for his research on the impact of time prices on use of healthcare facilities at Maastricht University. Following this, he occupied the position of director at various healthcare organisations, including Mondriaan and Altrecht. He lectures on market dynamics and strategic administrative issues in the healthcare sector and he also carries out research in these fields.
