2015 - 2017       Postdoctoral researcher - The Berlin School of Mind and Brain, Humboldt

I assessed the logic and limits of the neuro-reductionist idea that psychiatric disorders are brain diseases, and elaborated an alternative view on the relation between mind and brain and the causality involved.


 2011-2014        Researcher - Department of Psychiatry, Academic Medical Center,
                        University of Amsterdam.

I investigated the phenomenology of Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), and interviewed OCD patients who were treated with Deep Brain Stimulation to examine its effects on patients' experiences and life world.

2007-2011        Fellow Marie Curie EU Research Training Network DISCOS (Disorders and                         Coherence of the Embodied Self) - Department of Psychiatry, Section
                        Phenomenological Psychopathology, Heidelberg University.

I interviewed young schizophrenic patients using the EASE (Examination of Anomalous Self-Experience) instrument, and investigated the role of the body in the phenomenology of schizophrenia.
