Prof. dr. Willem-Jan van den Heuvel is a full professor in Information Systems and managing director of the European Research Institute of Services Science (ERISS). His research interests are at the cross-junction of software service systems and business process management with an emphasis on (global) networked enterprises. In particular, his expertise revolves around the following  major research themes: business process management, Big data analystics, service engineering (including service governance) and legacy system modernization.

Over the past fifteen years, I have been teaching several (under-/post) graduate courses in the area of software engineering, object-oriented modelling, business process analysis, project management, advanced resoure planning, process and dataa modeling, Big data analytics and service-oriented computing. In addition, I have been coordinating and teaching courses at summer schools (e.g., the  Summerschool on Service Science), research schools and MBAs, including SIKS, the Rotterdam Business School, the Antwerp Business School, and TIAS/NIMBAS.
