TSHD SEED MONEY CALL 2023 FUNDING FOR INTERDISCIPLINARY RESEARCH ON GLOBALIZATION

For 2023, our seed money call will be centered around the theme of Globalization. During the twentieth century, trade, mobilization, and technology turned the world into a more connected and interdependent place. Although this process of “globalization” stimulates transnational cooperation, knowledge exchange, and wealth for some societies, other regions face tremendous downsides of these global developments, such as the climate crisis, health crises and the emergence of technological inequalities. Awareness about these unanticipated consequences inspired calls for “deglobalization” or “regionalization”. These tensions show the contested nature of globalization, making it a relevant theme of inquiry in the field of humanities and digital sciences.
