Project Details
Description
Headed by Natascha Kienstra (Tilburg School of Catholic Theology, Tilburg University), the ambitious COMET project is a collaboration between universities, schools and organisations from various countries, featuring an online platform (https://ethics.community) that showcases the European ethics curricula and makes them accessible to a wide audience. We explore the various European ethics curricula by categorizing the different approaches, to gain more insight into the methods that are used in secondary schools. We will develop a visual language (inspired by ISOTYPE icons developed by the Austrian philosopher Otto Neurath) that represents the various ethical concepts that are used during ethics classes. This way, we develop an 'Ethics Teachers' Visual Toolkit' that can be used in ethics classes throughout Europe. The lessons that are developed with the Toolkit can be shared across Europe without language barriers.
