Project Details
Description
On August 15-16, 2024, we organized a unique event on "Communicating Climate Hope" that brought together academics, artists, journalists, and activists in creative conversation on how to foster a sense of hope and agency in the face of the climate crisis. To support the transformation of this event into a growing community, we aim to produce a series of digital and physical artefacts that reflect the diverse interests, experiences, and expertise of the event's participants. The seed grant money would go towards the production costs of a
multi-media zine that integrates academic reflections with artistic contributions on the importance of climate hope for inspiring climate action in an accessible and engaging manner. As this will be an unfamiliar practice for most contributors, we will use this process to better understand the potential of using non-traditional publication practices for opening academic discussions on climate communication to wider audiences.
