Description
Existing misconceptions of monolingual and monocultural ideologies in education, which emphasize adopting only the norms of the mainstream society for academic achievement, have recently begun to be replaced by the recognition and appreciation of multilingual and multicultural backgrounds of children. In line with this shift, one of the aims of the United Nations is to improve the quality of education by ensuring inclusive and equitable quality education that appreciates the cultural diversity of every learner, as highlighted in SDG 4: Quality Education.
This project aims to investigate how teachers in Language Friendly Schools in the Netherlands make use of digital technologies to support inclusive multilingualism in education and how these experiences can be integrated into pedagogical innovations to further promote inclusion.
This project is funded by Digital Sciences For Society, Growth Projects, Project Number: 202410
