Description
Travel grant Research Foundation in Flanders (FWO): V4.077.18N. This grant was necessary made my archival research in Lyon possible. In the archives I investigated the references of merchants to custom and customary norms.
Key findings
Key findings have to do with the relative scarcity of references to custom and customary norms made by the litigants at the Conservation, the easiness with which contemporaries could refer with different terms to such norms, and the complicated relationship between the cities institutions and the formation process of customary law.
