Linguistic Injustice on Digital Platforms

Project: Research project

Project Details

Description

In our proposed project titled "Linguistic Injustice on Digital Platforms", we merge Seunghyun's (TSHD) expertise in the applied philosophy of structural linguistic injustice and my (TiSEM) background in marketing and online platforms. Linguistic injustice is particularly prevalent among minority groups, who often face systematic inequities stemming from limited proficiency in the dominant language or from the stigmatization of their accents, dialects, or sociolects. As digitalization has made communication ubiquitous across time and space, also the relevance of linguistic injustice and its potential to foster structural inequalities has risen.
