The project aims to study the effects of cultural diversity on teams over time. The effects in general consist of process losses due to communication difficulties and process gains due to a higher number of problem perspectives. A new conceptualization of cultural differences is developed and included in a model of their effects on work teams. They are mainly based on the members ability to detect and negotiate cultural differences. An instrument to test this ability and to train it is developed and validated.
