NWO Impact Explorer (€30.000). Developing two innovative, data driven e-health solutions for measuring iron levels and cognitive functioning: economically viable in this regulatory and economic landscape?

The NWO Open Competition XS project "Iron-clad blood, iron-clad mind?" focuses on developing 1) an algorithm for the non-invasive measurement of iron levels through nail photos, and 2) an online test to measure cognitive functions, in healthy adults, over time. These tools have the potentially beneficial for various stakeholders in healthcare. However, the sustainable development of such AI-driven apps on a large scale depends on complex legal issues. This project aims to explore the extent to which it is economically and regulatorily feasible to further develop these apps into working products for users across the world.
