Project Details
Description
Students' writing skills are generally underdeveloped. To solve this problem, it is often assumed that more grammar education be beneficial for students. This is not the case for traditional school grammar, which hardly contributes to grammatical understanding. In recent years, however, a new kind of grammar education has been developed, called metaconceptual grammar education, which does have a positive effect on grammatical understanding. In the project it is examined whether metaconceptual grammar education can also improve writing skills. It is also examined whether metaconceptual interventions have a stronger effect on writing skills when they are linked to contextualized grammar teaching.
