    Project: Research project

    Project Details

    Description

Philosophers are not the only ones who discuss philosophical questions of science. Scientists themselves are not seldom engaged in metatheoretical investigations as well. The research centers around the question how far philosophers take the scientists' metaresults into account. Special attention is payed to "scientific philosophy", with Hans Reichenbach and E.W. Beth as the main spokesmen. (Also links are laid with nineteenth-century scientists, such as V.A. Julius, next to Helmboltz one of the Dutch philosopher Land's disussion ~partners".) Unpublished work will be consulted, and, if possible, published.
