Police, technology, community: On the impact of Information and Communication Technology on operational policing in the Netherlands

Police no longer "just" catch criminals, but also provide a service to the community in which they serve. This change takes place in an era in which both the police organization and society as a whole are increasingly influenced by information and communcation technology. Both affect police-community relations. This research connects developments in police-community relations with developments in the relation between technology and society and the relation between technology and policing.
