Standard Turkish: norm and reality in the European migration context and in Turkey

The project is aimed at an investigation of processes of change in the norm of standard Turkish, as evidenced in written production and in speakers' grammaticality judgements. Processes of a shifting norm can be observed not only in the European migration context, but also in Turkey itself. Answers will be sought for the following questions: What are de differences and similarities in this respect (both as to the competence of informants and in actual written production) between the situation in Turkey and the migration setting, and what is the relationship with age and educational profile of the informants?
