Description
This project aimes to contribute to research into the types of coherence relations, the ambiguity of those relations and the factors that determine markedness. Bases on corpus research an attempt will be made to develop a model including syntagmatic, semantic and pragmatic relations. The ambiguity of coherence relations will be investigated in experimental research in which readers has to label relations in context. Depending on the results explaining factors such as markedness of the relation will be focussed on.
