Tax Systems for Broad Welfare, Equity, Legitimacy, and Longevity: A Framework for Fair and Effective Fiscal Policy

Project: Research project

Project Details

Description

TAXWELL proposes a novel framework of plural reasoning to radically improve how tax systems are evaluated and reformed. By integrating insights from economics, political philosophy, law, and behavioral sciences, this project will systematically examine tax policies through multiple normative perspectives—including but not limited to utilitarianism, equality, and virtue ethics. This allows to identify reform options that are robustly justifiable across divergent moral frameworks and thus more likely to gain broad societal support.
