Abstract

While emerging technologies may improve healthcare operations and outcomes, managers face the challenge of technologies fail ing to spread across the healthcare ecosystem. Therefore, this research studies the implementation of emerging technologies from a service ecosystem perspective (micro meso macro ), thereby paying attention to the role of interfaces . . By means of a polar type case study design involving a successful and unsuccessful emerging technology implementation in healthcare , we unravel different types of interfaces within and between ecosystem levels T hese insights help managers to provide enabling resources for these interface s and allow for dynamics in terms of interfaces across the implementation process of emerging technologies.
