Abstract
This paper problematizes the restricting categorization of Agatha Christie’s novel
And Then There Were None, by focusing on the critique by Tzvetan Todorov in his
study on the literary fantastic. It argues that her work overthrows the dichotomy
between the natural and the supernatural, and creates a fantastic detective novel.
