Arbobeleid in EU staat onder druk

In an edited Dutch version of an earlier analysis Jan Cremers (AIAS and Law School UvT) concludes that the deregulation threat blocks any progress in the field of EU safety and health policy. The development of a progressive policy is no longer the starting point, let alone the will of the member states ‘to promote improved working conditions and an improved standard of living for workers, so as to make possible their harmonisation while the improvement is being maintained‘, as the Rome Treaty suggests. This development cannot be justified against the background of growing labour mobility (and the risks connected).
